About the Temple

Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple is one of the most revered Hindu temples in India, dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya worshipped in serpent form alongside Vasuki.

Located in the Western Ghats of Dakshina Kannada, the temple is renowned for itsSarpasamskara-Nagapratishtha — a Vedic ceremony to remove Sarpa Dosha — and Ashlesha Bali for serpent-related afflictions.

Surrounded by the sacred Kumaradhara river and with Kumara Parvatha rising behind it, the temple serves millions of devotees annually with 45+ sevas and rituals. A strict dress code applies for all visitors. Located 280 km from Bangalore, the temple is accessible by bus, train, and road.
